When choosing the right size Mayan hammock, we recommend you think about
it in terms of picking out a new mattress. In fact, we've named our
hammocks similar to the names of mattress sizes to make it easier for you
to choose the perfect Mayan hammock.
For one person, two people or the whole family?
Mayan Hammocks for One Person: If you're looking
for a Mayan hammock for one person, you have the benefit of choosing from
virtually all of our Mayan sizes. The main difference is how much room you
want to have to move around and how comfortable the size will be for you.
If you like to sprawl out and have lots of room, you'll love the
Queen and King sizes. Plus it never hurts to have a little extra room in case
someone decides to join you! But if you are looking for a more compact,
functional hammock you may prefer the Small Single or Double size Mayan.
Mayan Hammocks for Two People: If you are
looking for a Mayan hammock made for two people, you will want to choose
from our Double, Queen or King size. All three will comfortably accommodate two
people. If you're unsure about which would be best for you, use the
mattress analogy to help you decide. Think about how much "space" and how
comfortable you and your hammock partner will be in the different sizes.

Mayan Hammocks for Two or more people: Our
recommendation is definitely the Queen or King size. If you want the most
rugged and durable hammock to accommodate the whole family, go for the
King Thick String.
Finding the most Dangerously Comfortable Position.
It's important to note that there are three positions you can use to lay
in a Mayan hammock; parallel, diagonal or perpendicular. In the smaller
hammocks (Small and Single) you will want to lay parallel or at a slight
diagonal. If you are in the Double, Queen or King, you will have the option to lay in all three
positions, however, the most "dangerously" comfortable way is to lie
perpendicular or across the width of the hammock.

Cotton Hammocks are the softest and
most comfortable type of hammocks. They stretch and mold to your body. The
colors are subtle and naturally beautiful. Although delicate, the cotton
Mayans will give years of comfortable wear if properly cared for. If left
out in the weather, colors will begin to fade and material will show signs
of deterioration. Cotton is available with all Mayan styles.
Nylon Hammocks are firmer feeling,
with less flex than cotton hammocks. However, the nylon string is silky
feeling and incredibly comfortable. The colors are vivid and unlikely to
fade. Nylon Mayans offer increased durability, which may be better for
travel or regular outdoor use. Nylon is available with our Queen and King
sizes only.
Thick String Cotton Hammocks are built
for heavy use and is the most durable of the Mayans. It is made from thick
gauge cotton 3-4 times the size of regular Mayan Hammocks. It has the same
incredible comfort with a more rugged look and feel. Great for kids to
play in or to accommodate your entire family! (Holds up to 750lbs) Thick
string cotton is available with our King Thick String style only
