At Playa del Carmen you will find beautiful beaches looking out onto the Caribbean Sea, which are ideal places to relax or do all kinds of water sports: snorkeling, windsurfing and even kitesurfing, a new and exhilarating extreme sport that combines surfing and parasailing.    For those who like scuba diving, there are boats departing from the docks which offer exciting outings to the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest coral reef (system) in the world. There you can dive at depths of more than 10 meters (33 feet) among multicolored fish and coral that has existed for more than 500 years.   

Near Playa del Carmen you can discover Playa Paamul and Playa Paraiso, two beautiful beaches with calm waters and gorgeous ecological parks: Xcaret and Xel-Ha. Also nearby are numerous sinkholes where you can do rappelling and cave diving while exploring the amazing depths of underground river systems.

Come nightfall, we recommend that you take a stroll along Quinta Avenida, one of Playa del Carmen´s most happening areas. The avenue is lined with restaurants, bars, cosmopolitan nightclubs and a shopping mall with exclusive boutiques, clothing stores and jewelry shops.

Playacar is an upscale resort area of Playa del Carmen.

Playacar is a gated community that has grown with Playa del Carmen, just south of its main urban area.

It is composed of 2 sections: the first one, Playacar Phase 1 offers nice by-the-sea secluded beaches and very exclusive villas, very close to downtown Playa del Carmen. The second, Playacar Phase II, was built around a golf course designed by Robert von Hagge, and exposes all inclusive resorts and private villas all around.

The Golf Club at Playacar offers the perfect combination of natural beauty and man-men creations. This magnificent golf course, carved out of the dense Mayan Jungle is only a few hundred yards away from the crystal-clear, turquoise ocean and the fine white sands of the Mexican Caribbean Sea.

The intelligent architectural design of the golf course has converted Playa del Carmen into one of the most popular tourism destinations in all of Mexico.

The Golf Club at Playacar was inaugurated September 15th, 1994. This 7,144 yards, par 72, championship golf course was designed and built under the watchful eye of renowned architect Robert Von Hagge. With a slope rating of 148 from the championship tees, 136 from the white tees, and 134 from the red tees, it is as challenging to play as it is beautiful to view.

The Club House is a traditional Mayan structure complete with a large palapa covered banquet area. The club house also includes a fully stocked pro-shop, men's and women's locker areas, and of course the famous 19th Hole. Also included in the clubhouse is a large, secure storage with room for up to 300 golf bags, so that golfers can leave their bags at the course and not have to worry about hauling them around all week.

For those golfers who choose to leave their clubs at home, we have over 100 sets of rental clubs available for both men and women. The player may choose from Callaway, Cobra, or Taylor Made rental sets, and are available in both steel and graphite, and for both right handed as well as left handed golfers.

Before beginning your round, be sure to warm up at our world-class practice area. Along with a driving range that will accommodate even the longest of hitters, we have an excellent short-game area including a large putting green complete with chipping and pitching areas as well as a green side sand bunker.

After your round, be sure to visit the 19th Hole, and enjoy one of our famous hamburgers along with your favorite beverage. The 19th hole overlooks the 18th green and is the perfect ending to a perfect day in golfing paradise!!!
